TEDxDanubia 2011 - Rachel Armstrong -- Children of the Industrial Revolution

TEDxDanubia 2011 - Rachel Armstrong -- Children of the Industrial Revolution Video Clips. Duration : 16.30 Mins.

Rachel Armstrong is co-director of AVATAR (Advanced Virtual and Technological Architectural Research) in Architecture and Synthetic Biology at the Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London (UCL). She is also a Senior TED Fellow, and Visiting Research Assistant at the Center for Fundamental Living Technology, Department of Physics and Chemistry, University of Southern Denmark. Her research investigates 'living materials', a new approach to building materials that suggests it is possible for our buildings to share some of the properties of living systems. She is author of a forthcoming TED Book on 'Living Architecture' that will be released on the kindle platform in the autumn. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
