I made this to hopefully help anybody out that is looking at replacing their stock console subwoofer in their Jeep Wrangler. I utilized JeepForum.com, as well as WranglerForum.com. I have to throw out a special shout out to Rogue, ArcherAce, USMCTJ, and several others whose pictures and directions directly assisted in this install. This replacement is not going to make your Wrangler shake, but in my opinion is a huge step up from the paper woofer (that chances are is already blown in your Jeep). I also have two JBL 10s in the back, so it doesn't compare, but if your not going to run additional woofers, you definitely need to do this upgrade. Also, even if you are going to run supplemental woofers you should do this for when you ride with the top off. I basically have to shut my subs in the back off, 'cause they are worthless in open air...most are; but the console sub still compliments the rest of the audio system while topless (my Jeep, not me...I'm a dude). You can purchase this sub at Amazon or eBay (around ), or can even go cheaper with a Pyramid (around ). Also worth noting, I did not use the existing amp, so I do not provide any help on wiring, but the two forums I listed above have ample info. I have two aftermarket amps, so I am running the console sub off of 2-channels (bridged) at around 100-watts RMS. Last note, I promise.
